9:08 am - So, I’m going deaf..
As everyone should know, I’m practically deaf in my left year. This is primary due to a tumor I had when I was younger and a chronic ear infection I’ve had since shortly after.

My right ear is also borderline hard-of-hearing. What I mean by this is that my hearing bounces between mild-hearing loss to moderate depending on if I have an infection or what not, and I am prone to ear infections.

However, there is a possibility to restore normal hearing in my right ear. The main reason my right ear has problems and is prone to infection is primary because I have a hole in my eardrum. Patching an eardrum is a simple fix nowadays that most any ENT doctor can perform. It comes with a stipulation though: patched eardrums take about a month to heal, and during that healing process one is unable to hear.

Thus, for about a month to a month and a half, I’ll be deaf in my right ear along with my left.

Sounds kick arse.

Surgery is already scheduled for January 4th. I chose this timeframe because it’s during winter break and I won’t have to worry about work/school for that short period.

I used to be afraid of become deaf, but now I’m actually excited about this.

1:33 am - Still hanging in there

Tibia Screw

I’m enjoying my LJ scrapbook. It allows me to endlessly spam everyone else with pointless photos that I enjoy. While today’s photo isn’t all that special, it does have some significance.

This is the screw from my tibia; the screw that held the bottom portion of my ACL graft in place as it healed. I’d been having some issues with my knee still (being unable to run, an annoying snapping sensation, and occasional inability to walk), so I went to the doctor. It’s been a few weeks now, but I had a 2nd knee surgery on October 4th. I had a slightly torn meniscus and a lot of debris around my ACL graft. My knee was cleaned up and I had one of the screws from my previous surgery taken out (because it was protruding and causing discomfort). My knee is doing a bit better now. Steps are still a pain, but I’m getting around.

It’s sad to say, but my shoulders are still bothering me. For a while, they only annoyed me if I slept on them wrong, but recently they’ve been hurting. I think I may have a mildly torn rotator cuff. I’m going to see the doctor and ask for an MRI and see what it shows. My wrists also still hurt, but a change in my computer setup has helped slightly- I just need to continue some more self-therapy with that. Oh yeah; my back is still sore too.

This last year has been a massive pain in the.. well.. pain in too many areas. It’s been hard keeping my head up, but somehow I’ve managed I’m looking at the possibility of having a few more surgeries within the next year, and possibly a good deal of therapy time as well. It’s annoying, but once again I try to remain optimistic. While my knee is still sore and swollen from recent surgery, it feels much better. I dealt with the discomfort for so long I didn’t think I’d move along, but I did. I’m hoping the same happens for the rest of my body.

Sorry for the lack of coherent post. I’m tired and I’m not even bothering to structure this in any way.

4:49 am - OMG! Shedinja FTW!!
I played my first wifi battle on Pokemon Battle Revolution against a random opponent.

It was some japanese guy. We did a Double match with four Pokemon each. His pokemon were: Azelf, Torterra, Deoxys, and Dialaga. Some pretty bad-arse legendaries, eh?

My team was: Blaziken, Gardevoir, Crobat, and Shedinja.

While all of his Pokemon had nasty, uber-powerful attacks- not a single one of them could hurt Shedinja. XD!!!! I used Confuse Ray to death and pwned his team.

ROTFL! I am amused. XD XD XD HAHAHAHAHAHA.

4:19 pm - New Wii Number.
Interesting. A while back my Wii had problems with its GPU, so I had it send it in for repair, and Nintendo simply sent me a new system.

I still have all of my information, (Mii's, registered friends, saves, ect), but it seems I have a new friend code, also. While it seems I can still harass friends I currently have listed, I'm gonna post my new number so there are no problems. :O

Wii code:

4:16 pm - Pokemon Fever
Not since the release of Silver/Gold has there been such a desire to play Pokemon- for me at least. This time around is much different though because before I would get a Pokemon game and my brothers would get one and a friend or two, and that wasn't so much fun because i wouldn't ever get to link with anyone.
However, I know so many people who intend/have gotten the new games- wifi aside, I've never had so many people to link-up with. Even a few of my closest friends, who've never played Pokemon are now playing the GBA games to prep for the DS ones.

I've already got a good handful of hours in. I'm postinf from rehab at the moment, so I can't post my friend code just now, but I shall later on.

4:49 am - One of those moments...
Do you ever have one of those moments in which you bump something over, but it's too far from you and you're busy doing something else, so you decide you'll pick it up in a few minutes?

And incidently, when you come back over, you end up stepping on said object?

And then, of course, you don't realize you stepped on it until moments later when you suddenly think to yourself: "Ya know, cell phone screens should be a lot less destructable".

4:10 am - I was performing surgery on my Wii.
...and by the subject title, I mean I was playing Trauma Center for the Wii. Although I didn't get far in the DS version of this game, I played enough to see that the story line is the EXACT SAME THING almost. There seems to be a few minor things changed about the surgery's here and there, and I think a secondary storyline is written into the game, but it seems the same. :O

Though, I like the Wii version better. I like using the nunchuck to quickly choose my tools rather than tapping it with the stylus.

Oh yeah. I need sleep. c_c; (offtobed)

1:43 am
Well, a lot has changed since last Easter. This time last year I was in West Virginia with Amelia, her family, and Brandon. I don’t quite recall how Easter-like it felt, but I do recall I was able to keep myself quite busy- UNLIKE today.

Today was probably the most watered-down Easter I have ever had in my life. I’ve had some dull holidays before, but in those cases I’d go out with friends and escape the reality that was my household. Today was not one of those days.
First, my mother differed from her usually decorating the table with Easter candy goodness, and simply had a dozen boiled eggs and a few chocolate bunnies. No decorations, no trays of random goodies- not much of anything. I don’t really care for the majority of the Easter candy provided, but seeing the kitchen table so barren makes it feel as if it’s not Easter.
I did get to spend the day with one of my closest friends: my iPod. Yes. That was the extent of my social interaction for the day. I went through my music collecting chuckling at old songs I used to listen to and also was amused to find some old favorites. I didn’t do too much today. I didn’t feel productive, so homework, cleaning, or anything of that ilk didn’t happen. I didn’t chat with anyone online or call anyone (until most of the day was over), so I wasn’t very social. I spent most of my time looking at news sites. The day really was a bore.

But either way, belated happy Easter, ya’ll.

Oh, and my health is improving. My wrist still feels funny, but it’s not a constant ache.

I will, however, take this time to point out an interesting quote I saw on the wurds LJ community today:

“Do you want me to tell you something really subversive? Love is everything it's cracked up to be. That's why people are so cynical about it. It really is worth fighting for, being brave for, risking everything for. And the trouble is, if you don't risk anything, you risk even more.” – Erica Jong

So, I was thinking of going to this shindig, but only to meet various peoples who I've not yet had the opportunity to meet in the past. (or to meet some people I've not seen in a while).

So, who amongst you all will keep me company? :O

(I was going to go last year, but reconstructive knee surgery set me back a little.)
